Architectural Features

Like many homes in Santa Fe, the exact date of construction is unknown. The house features many signature architectural elements of the classic Santa Fe style. There are 2 kiva fireplaces, one inside the living room, and one in an outdoor patio. Walls are constructed with venetian plaster. The house gets its name from the colors in the plaster. Vigas run throughout the house. Herringbone latillas are above the vigas in the kitchen. Doorways are accented with exposed lintels and nichos in tucked away places in the house. The portal that spans the front of the main house is a favorite space for coffee in the morning and dinner and drinks in the evening.
